Hills is a publically listed company that owns a number of disparate wholesale technology businesses. Traditional B2B operations relied on customers dealing directly with each of the businesses directly. The siloed approach to customer management was not geared for eCommerce and required a consolidation of internal systems. Hills approach Netstarter to help take Hills online as a brand and build a direct relationship with their customers, who until now had never dealt with Hills directly.
The foundation of any good solution starts with a well thought out strategy. Netstarter was involved in a number of internal planning sessions to help design the Hills eCommerce solution that brought together the various subsidiary brands into a single website with a combined catalogue to its entire customer base. The project has been staged into a number of releases, each stage bringing Hills closer to delivering a truly self-serviced ecommerce system. The site is built on Magento Enterprise and includes a number of customisations to satisfy their B2B requirements including contract pricing, credit limits and customer approvals.
