Web Design Guide - Creating Your Website
How It Works - The Net Starter web design process...
The Net Starter process allows us to provide customers with a professional website and content management system for a fraction of the cost of custom web design. By refining the process into 4 systematic phases, we have reduced the production time-frame and minimised the development costs involved in creating advanced websites.
1. Define > Requirements Gathering & Feasibility Study |
| At the outset, you will be appointed an Account Manager who will remain your single point of contact for the duration of the project. Your Account Manager will organize an initial consultation (phone or meeting) to discuss your requirements and identify your underlying goals. Once we have acquired a solid understanding of the primary objectives, we will be in the position to determine the most suitable web design package that best accommodates your requirements. Your Account Manager will provide you with a Website Planner (a questionnaire document) to help guide you through all of the important material that should be included in your website. The Net Premium package involves a more extensive scoping process to ensure that custom requirements are properly documented before the web design team is engaged. |
2. Design > Web Page Design & Logo Design |
| The design phase is the creative process that translates your company's image into a quality website that promotes your business in the most professional manner. The Website Planner document provides our designers with an opportunity to acquire a detailed understanding of the technical and creative requirements for your new website. Our designers will then prepare a mockup concept that illustrates the appearance and structure of your website for your feedback and comments. Once you have reviewed the website layout, our designers will implement a final round of revisions (if required) before presenting the design for final approval. We strongly believe that keeping the customer closely involved in the creative process will ensure that the proposed concept reflects all of the requirements identified in the definition phase. |
3. Develop > Build the Web Site with Content Management |
| The development phase involves converting the approved layouts into an operational website. Our developers work in close partnership with the designers to ensure that the actual website is an exact reflection of the final screen designs. Once the basic website framework has been established, our developers will begin integrating the Site Control content management system, along with the other additional components you have selected (e.g Ecommerce, product catalogue, photo gallery etc...). During the development phase our technicians will register your company's domain name and configure your email accounts. As an interim solution, we will create an attractive holding page that displays the basic contact information. |
4. Deploy > Quality Assurance, Training & Online Marketing |
| Before the approved website is deployed on the live server, our developers conduct rigorous usability and quality assurance testing to ensure that your website functions correctly. Having successfully completed the exhaustive testing, our development team will place the website on our local staging server for your final review. Once you have approved the final website, you will have the opportunity to populate your system through the Site Control content management system (Our designers can perform the content population for you - click here to find out more). The population process involves adding all of the required content and related media files to your new website. Your account manager will issue you with a basic starter kit that includes a quick reference guide and a detailed user manual to familiarise you with Site Control and all of the available functionality. In addition to the Starter Kit, we will provide you with free phone and email support to assist with the initial technical or operational problems you may encounter. Once you are completely satisfied with the final product, your new website will be launched on our live server. |
