Most people blindly go to the gym and do random exercises. They might even spend many hours at it. Wanting to lose weight can be a good idea but this method of weight loss will not be very effective.
Working out to fail in weight loss
When you work out you burn a lot of energy. What gave you all that energy was not fat, but sugar. So, in other words, when you work out, what your body loses is mostly sugar and not fat. Why do you think your weight is refusing to budge much from where it stood before you start bubbling with all these activities? Or as it is with many people your weight loss program has turned out to be a weight gain program instead! Well what else can you expect, when you have to stuff yourself to keep hunger at bay after burning all that energy? So, what you are doing at the gym would make your weight loss effort seem worthless, because without you even knowing it you are struggling to putting on more.
The fact is not much fat is burnt at the gym but the glycogen stored in your body gets drained faster. You might lose a few pounds by starving yourself and spending as much time in the gym. But in the long run to arrive at your natural optimum weight your body will start producing extra hormones to stimulate you to eat more. Your effort at the gym will give you some bulk because muscles become stronger, more muscular and heavier. In such a scenario your struggle to achieving weight loss can give you the wrong results. Frustrated by your weight loss program, you might decide to give up try achieve weight loss altogether.
So why should you even work out?
After reading the latter you might want to ask why you need to work out at all if all your attempts are no use. If you think working out everyday for hours sucks big time, then you should stop doing it. No one has the discipline to force themselves to do something they dislike over and over - it will drive any human crazy.
The way to achieve weight loss
1) Step outside and go for a long walk! Go outside and take long walks! You need to exercise connective tissue, and long walks can help accomplish this. Walking is an incredibly efficient exercise and requires using both your arms and legs.
2) Try to not spend too much time sitting at you desk. Try walking for at least 2 – 3 hours per day. Why not walk those few blocks instead of taking the taxi? Sitting 8-10 hours at your desk in front of a computer is the most horrible thing you can do for your body if you're a girl. You will look disgusting.
